Oklahoma is the only state in which no major city has a population over 100,000 people.
Oklahoma is one of the United States of America’s forty-eight states. The state has a total area of 68,677 square miles and a population of 3,859,955 people. Oklahoma is also known as The Sooner State.
We chuckled when Jimbo Fisher warned us that this day was coming.
We chuckled because it seemed absurd that Texas A&M, coming off back-to-back defeats, could break Alabama’s 100-game winning run against unranked opponents. We laughed because Nick Saban has a perfect 24-0 record against previous assistants. We laughed because Saban himself smiled, implying that Fisher’s forecast of an ultimate victory against Saban was based on golf.
Saban isn’t looking forward to his next round of 18 with Fisher at this point.
Week 6 brought us Oklahoma’s incredible comeback against Texas, Iowa’s defense punishing Penn State’s overworked backup quarterback, Michigan and Notre Dame surviving on late field goals, and a showdown between the country’s two worst teams, but none of it could have prepared us for what happened in College Station.
Saturday was a complete whirlwind.

After all, it was just a week ago when Alabama looked invincible. The Tide crushed Ole Miss, Saban threw popcorn at yet another former assistant, and the road to a college football championship seemed to culminate in the SEC championship game, with Alabama and Georgia obviously the dominating powers.
Now we live in a world where Jim Harbaugh is unbeaten, Florida State is on a winning run, and UMass has beaten Nick Saban in a game. What an incredible moment to be alive.
According to one hypothesis, the Earth is made up of infinite worlds, each of which manifests in its own alternative chronology. The college football action on Saturday would definitely lend weight to that theory.
In the fourth quarter on Saturday, Texas A&M, Michigan, Iowa, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Wake Forest all trailed. They all came out on top.
We were so close to making another round of “Texas is back!” jokes at the Red River Showdown before a fox ran across the field, the Longhorns imploded, and Lincoln Riley benched his preseason All-America quarterback in favor of freshman Caleb Williams, who led the Sooners to a stunning 55-48 victory.
